On 15-17 of May, on the federal territory of Sirius, the Second Medicine Developers Summit Sirius.Biotech took place. Representatives of universities, academic institutions and high-tech companies as well as students and young scientists participated in the event.
Natalya Mushenkova, Vasily Avseenko, Vladimir Tezov and Alexey Vinogradov were active participants in the event which helped broaden the pipeline with a number of interesting projects.
Alexey Vinogradov took on the role of moderator and speaker in a session dedicated to investment and means of support. Apart from discussing venture investment in biotech, the launch of a new programme of grants «PharmMed-Start» was announced. It is a programme created with the assistance of the Fund for Assistance to the Development of Small Businesses in the Fields of Science and Technology and financed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for early projects that are potentially interesting for Unicorn. However, in order for these project to satisfy the investment criteria, experimental verification of concept is required. The announcement was met with major enthusiasm.
Vladimir Tezov made a report on the initiative Green Light for Our Kind which aims to create a favourable environment for government purchases of innovative domestically developed products.
Moreover, Unicorn Capital took on the role of sponsor of development and implementation of IT-systems (unic-matchmaking.ru) to arrange face-to-face appointments. The system was successfully used by the participants throughout the summit.
Overall, more than 800 people participated in the event which is 1.5 times higher than in 2023.
